Spectral analysis

See all projects

One project aims to exploit modern power spectrum estimation methods in order to improve data quality and availability. This work was initiated in an undergraduate project by an Erasmus student within the School of Mathematics and Statistics and was completed as a PhD with SCEOS and EPSRC/MTD funding.

A second project, developed by two PhD students, involves filtering the raw data before spectral analysis in order to remove modulations induced by variable currents in the measurement region which distort the power spectra and make it difficult to extract wave data.
